About the

Castelló International Festival

In 2014, Artistic Director and founder Albert Agut had an idea. He loved playing music, but found that he and his colleagues did not have enough opportunities to perform. He decided to take matters into his own hands, and thus the Festival Internacional de Música de Cambra de Castelló was born. Albert wished to create an opportunity for all kinds of musicians, from many different backgrounds and cultures, to be able to come together and do what musicians love to do most- play music.

Ever since, FIMCC has taken Europe by storm. Past seasons of this festival have included chamber music groups ranging from the NDR Orchestra of Hamburg, the Dresden Philharmonic, and the Köln Philharmonic; just to name a few.

The concert hall where the festival takes place is the Symphonic Hall of the Auditori de Castelló. For each of the eight concerts during the festival, the one thousand seat auditorium is completely full. Needless to say, the festival has had great reception from the audience in past years.

Most recently, the festival has grown to include a team of people from all over the world. Albert is currently studying Clarinet Performance at the University of Southern California, in Los Angeles. He hopes to expand this festival to include more people from the United States, his second home- to continue this wonderful cross-cultural exchange of music.

This festival is part of the Spanish Government Cultural Project, which is in coordination with the prestigious Dávalos-Fletcher Foundation. With this support and many other generous donations, the festival has been allowed to flourish and continue to bring musicians and people together. It is a nonprofit organization and pays the musicians for their travel and time to maximize the quality and creativity of the festival.
